Company’s Slim-Hole Tieback Casing Successfully Run in Well 3-7-Xie 140

Sidetracking is a process technology that involves drilling out of an
existing wellbore at a specific point, creating a new wellbore, and completing
it with a smaller diameter casing. To maximize spatial utilization, slim-hole
tieback casing, characterized by smooth internal/external walls and uniform
diameter, is often employed. In anticipation of the growing normalization of
sidetracked well development in oilfields, the company has strategically
positioned itself, driving efforts across market exploration, technical
research, and bidding decisions. The complete suite of type tests for the
slim-hole tieback casing series was finished for two specifications, and the
company successfully won the bid for the slim-hole tieback casing processing
services within the oilfield administration in November 2025.

In late December 2025, the company learned of a sidetracking operation plan
for Well 3-7-Xie 140 operated by the Shengli Oil Production Plant, which
involved running 560 meters of slim-hole tieback casing before New Year's Day.
Facing a tight schedule and urgent task, the project team promptly finalized all
details, including the sidetrack well's process parameters, casing technical
specifications, and required ancillary tools. Subsequently, a feasibility review
for processing the 114.3×7.37 N80 slim-hole tieback casing was completed. The
Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) Processing Factory dedicated all resources to
organizing production. After completing all necessary procedures on December
30th, the casing was successfully delivered to the wellsite. Upon receiving the
notification for on-site service in the early hours of December 31st, the
relevant technical and service personnel immediately rushed to the location.
They guided the crew through the casing running and connection processes. After
nearly 10 hours of continuous operation, all 57 joints of casing were
successfully run and pressure tested.

This marks the first step in the field application of the SJT series
slim-hole tieback casing. It not only fills a gap in the company's product
portfolio in this category but also demonstrates the company's core strength in
the research, development, and production of oil country tubular goods. Moving
forward, the OCTG Factory will use this successful application as a springboard
to continuously optimize product performance, expand product variety and
application scenarios, and gradually build a new competitive edge in the market
for more products in the SJT series.
